My first duck race

My first duck race ..... well that was an experience.

It was marvellous to see the people of Calne out in force on Saturday.  The sun shone, the ducks floated and the people cheered!! The ducks my kids had brought came in somewhere near the end but they had a great day out.

The church had a stall at the back of the church building giving out drinks.  I was surprised more people did not stop by.  We also had a stall over by the end of the duck race.  We had a few good conversations with people and gave out information about our Christianity Explored course.

It was great to experience the community spirit in Calne and to catch up with so many friends.  Here's looking forward to next year!

Christmas Lights

Carols@Calne - 19th November 2011

Last Saturday the church was the Christmas light switch on in Calne. Last year my family and I were part of the parade which was a new experience.  This year we were part of a team that opened church during the evening for carols followed by mince pies!    At least 200 people passed through the church.

Christianity Explored course starts!

Today, Tuesday 17th May 2011, saw the begins of the first Christianity Explored course at Calne Free Church.  Over 6 people attended and it was a great occassion to sit down and start to look at what Christianity is all about.  Everyone was really relaxed.  There were a few calmed nerves when I reminded people that no one was going to ask them to read the Bible, pray or sing!!!  It was a great opportunity for people to ask me those questions they've always wanted to ask but never dared.  It's not too late to join the group and have your questions about Christianity answered!

Sermon Series

A series of sermons looking at the life and ministry of Jesus. Who is he? Why did he come? We will answer these and other questions as we look at Mark's account of his life.

In this series we will look at the very beginning - Genesis is not only the first book of the Bible, but also tells us about the beginning - the beginning of creation and the beginning of God's plan to save the world.
